The Corinth Academy - K-12 School
TCA at a Glance
Children receive superior education from qualified, spiritually minded Christian teachers and administrators at TCA.
A distinctively Christian philosophy of knowledge and learning combines with serious academics and home reinforcement to produce charactered, responsible young people. Computerized learning techniques are combined with traditional values and content.
The Accelerated Christian Education program is individualized. It is designed to allow each student to work at his own level of achievement, which may vary from subject to subject. Accelerated Christian Education is the curriculum utilized in our learning centers.
The core curriculum is intended to provide a quick start for beginning students; however, it can do much more than that. The Accelerated Christian Education curriculum enables the student to progress through high school, adequately preparing him for college or for performance in the working world.
Core Curriculum
The term "core" is used to distinguish the foundational courses from the enhancement courses in the Accelerated Christian Education's expanded curriculum. The core curriculum provides the student with academics, skill building, reading practice, character and wisdom training, and knowledge of God and His Word.
The core curriculum includes basic academic disciplines that provide a student's essential educational needs: Math, English, Literature, Social Studies, Science and Word Building. Each curriculum course level consists of 12 PACEs. Normally a student will complete a minimum of 60 PACEs in one academic year; however, this will vary according to the student's ability.
Careful attention is given by the supervisor to see that each student keeps academic balance.
Purpose
The Corinth Academy is an extension of the Christian home and the local church for training young people in a Christian environment, with the emphasis on matters of eternal value. The academy staff is dedicated to working closely with parents to train and develop the whole child.Attendance at The Corinth Academy should be considered a privilege and not merely a right. Our goal is to train Christian youth in the principles of God's Word, stressing such vital areas as: leadership, self-discipline, responsibility, integrity, good citizenship, and consistency. The church, as does the academy, stands for the highest standards of morality, honesty, and genuine Christian character.
The Corinth Academy is one of the educational ministries of the TheChurchOfCorinth. The purpose of The Corinth Academy is to educate and train the whole student - physically, socially, intellectually, and spiritually. Guidelines for personal habits and definite dress codes are provided. The principle of self discipline is the basis of our disciplinary structure. In addition to self discipline, a young person must have Biblical knowledge that is developed into understanding to more effectively serve God. Therefore, the Bible is not substituted for any academic subject, but is integrated into the total educational program. The Corinth Academy desires to develop students that will become effective and productive believers in the Kingdom of God.
It is also the school's desire to be a reinforcement of the Christian home. Students are taught what the proper respect and relationship between mother, father, child, husband, or wife and God should be (Prov. 28:7, 22:6, 29:15; Eph. 6:4; Deut. 6:7, 31:13; I Tim. 3:4; Matt. 19:14). The home, like the church, is one of the institutions God has ordained to carry out His plan for a Christian's life. The Corinth Academy does not attempt to replace the Christian home, but strives to strengthen the home according to God's Word.
Standard of Conduct
Students of the Academy are expected to refrain from engaging in/or talking about: cheating, swearing, any use of tobacco, drinking alcoholic beverages, and using narcotics. Any student who participates in or talks about such activities is subject to immediate suspension.
The Corinth Academy students are expected to act in an orderly and respectful manner, always careful to maintain good Christian standards of courtesy, kindness, clean language, morality, and trustworthiness. Each student must sign a "Standard of Conduct Form", agreeing to strive toward unquestionable character in the areas of conduct, speech, and attitude.
Any student observing questionable activities or overhearing conversations, which are contrary to the policies of this academy, should immediately discuss the matter with the administration.
All new students are admitted on a probationary basis for the first six (6) weeks.
Admissions Policy
The Corinth Academy admits students of any race, color, and national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to the students at the academy. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, and national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, athletics, and other school-administered programs. The student's father and mother will not be a discretion point.
Church
Students and parents are expected to belong to and attend regularly TheChurchOfCorinth; or another church approved by the pastor of TheChurchOfCorinth. If attending a church other than TheChurchOfCorinth, a "Pastor's Reference" from that church's pastor must accompany the student's application for enrollment.
