New To The Church
What to Wear
We want you to feel as comfortable as possible. You will see everything from shorts and T-shirts in the summertime to blue jeans and sneakers to suits with ties during service. So, please feel free to wear what you like and do what fits you best.
When You Arrive
As you enter the building, you’ll be greeted by someone at the front door who will provide you with a bulletin containing some basic information about the church. You’ll probably notice lots of people moving about in the church foyer and some standing in a line. That line is for our breakfast buffet, but we’ll come back to that in a minute. There are a couple of other things we’d like to tell you about first.
Welcome Center
You can find tons of information at our Welcome Center. We keep brochures and flyers there about all areas of the church. You can find our eNnouncements there- a handout which gives a weekly update of most of the church’s activities. There will also be someone there who can answer questions for you, so please feel free to stop by if you need any type of information or assistance.
Childcare
If you continue through the foyer past the café area, you’ll come to a check-in desk where you can check your children into church. We provide services and care for infants all the way up to age 11. Please click on our Departments menu and click on the Children section for more detailed information. Security is very important to us at TCOC. At check-in, your child will receive a name badge with a number and also be marked on the hand in black light ink with that same number (parent will be marked also). The parent who checks in the child must be the parent who checks out the child. Your number will appear on the auditorium screen during service if you are ever needed for assistance with your child.
Breakfast
Mmm! The sweet aroma of a hot breakfast and freshly-ground coffee! Be sure to stop by and partake of the great food at the TCOC Breakfast Buffet. If there is a line at the time, believe me, it’s worth the wait. There is no charge to you at all and you are welcome to eat at the tables in the café area, or just take your food right into the auditorium. Bon appétit!
Length of Service
The entire service will last approximately one and one-half hours. At around the midpoint of each service, we have an Intermission. This is a 5 minute break in the service which enables you to meet new people, refresh your coffee, visit the restroom, etc. But don’t take too long, you don’t want to miss the continuation of the praise and worship music!
LaUnch
Let’s say you loved the services and all of the folks you met at TCOC and are considering making TCOC your new church home. You probably should check out the TCOC LaUnch Program. There are three sessions to complete (Ready, Set & Go) and each (in its own way) is designed to connect you to the life flow of TCOC and equip you to serve God with greater purpose and passion. If you’d like to become an official member of the church or find out where you can serve TCOC best, come to the LaUnch Pad on Wednesday nights!
